Your organization tracks customer orders in an Orders Table in the Dataverse. (You added this table to your Dataverse when you worked through an exercise in Module 2 Lesson 2.) The company offers discounts on some of its products. However not all customers will be eligible to receive the discount. They will need to meet certain criteria and the sales manager must approve the discount offer.

In the previous exercise you automated the approval process using a Power Automate Approval Flow. Saving a request file in the OneDrive for Business folder called FlowRequest, triggers the Approval process.

You will now create a Business Flow that will run when the sales staff are initially recording the order from the customer. It will check if the product is listed with a discount and, if it is, reminds the sales staff to send the FlowRequest.

Create the Business Flow

Task #1 Create and Name the Flow

In Power Automate, navigate to My Flows, and chose to create a Business Flow.

Name the flow Discount Approval and select the Order Table that you have already uploaded to the Dataverse. Click on Create.

Task #2 Name First Stages and Add Step

Name the first stage and add a step to match the following. In the Properties Box for the Step choose the Discount Available? heading from the Data Field drop down.

Task #3 Add the Condition and Customize the Condition

Add a Condition Component. Rename it and set the Rule as shown in the screenshots below.

Task #4 Add and Customize the Condition Met Step

Add a Stage to the Tick Mark side of the Condition Step. Rename the Stage to Approval Required.

Add a data step to the Stage and rename it Set Discount Approved to Send Request.

Task #5 Add and Customize the Condition Not Met Step

Add a Stage to the X Mark side of the Condition Step. Rename the Stage Not Eligible.

Add a data step to the Stage and rename it Set Full Price Charge to Yes.

Task #6 Save and Activate

Save, validate, and activate the flow.

Optional Task

In a previous exercise, you created a Model Driven App based on the Order Table. Add the Discount Approval Business Flow to the Model Driven App and test that it works by adding a record to the Table.
